This fault can be caused by either a problem within your print head itself if not a faulty minuscule chip on several ink cartridges. Also a bad connection between ink cartridge as well as the printer terminals can result in the U053 meaning appearing.
First step to solving this trouble is to take away all cartridges on the printer and carefully clean the little micro chips on the cartridges with any non oily cleaning solution like pure alcohol. Next look inside the produce head and check that there is no congealed ink stuck towards small gold terminals which get connected to the micro chip in the event the cartridge is placed.
Once these steps have been performed re set up all cartridges if ever the error disappears. If it is always see if any individual cartridge has any red cross previously mentioned it. If so replace the wrong cartridge. If none in the above steps work after that your print head could have died.
